Public Service Regulations2 (Amendment)

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922,hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Salaries of Fourth Division officers previously temporarily employed

1. Regulation 113 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting in sub-regulation (1) “before the commencement of section 15 of the Public Service Acts Amendment Act 1982” after “appointment” (first occurring); and

(b) by inserting in sub-regulation (2) “before the commencement of section 15 of the Public Service Acts Amendment Act 1982” after “appointed” (first occurring).

Amendments

2. The Public Service Regulations are further amended as set out in Schedules 1 and 2.

SCHEDULE 1 Regulation 2

AMENDMENTS OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS

The following provisions of the Public Service Regulations are amended by omitting “Permanent Head” (wherever occurring) and substituting “Secretary”:

Sub-regulations 4a (2) and (4), regulation 18, sub-regulations 19 (1) and (2), regulations 23 and 29, sub-regulations 33a (1), (2), (3) and (4), 33b (1), (2) and (3), 33C (1), 33d (3) and (4), 33e (4) and (5), sub-regulation 72e (2), paragraph 72I, (2) (b), regulation 74, sub-regulations 107 (1) and (2) and 108 (1), regulation 108a, sub-regulations 108b (1) and (2) and 109 (3), regulation 109c, paragraph 109d (1) (b), sub-regulations 114 (3), 115 (1) and 117 (3), regulation 117a and sub-paragraph 167 (f) (v).

Paragraph 19 (1) (a)

Omit “in any Division”.

Paragraph 72b (1) (c)

Omit “Permanent Heads”, substitute “Secretaries”.

Regulation 72m

Omit “Permanent Heads”, substitute “Secretaries”.

Regulation 103c

Omit “an officer of the First Division of the Australian Public Service”, substitute “a Secretary”.

Regulation 108a

Omit “Permanent Heads”, substitute “Secretaries”.

Regulation 109c

Omit “or by transfer from the Fourth Division to the Third Division of a qualified officer who has passed the prescribed examination”.

Sub-regulation 116 (1)

Omit “office in the First Division”, substitute “office of Secretary”.

Sub-regulation 158 (6)

Omit “a lower Division, office or salary”, substitute “an office of lower classification”.

Paragraph 167 (c)

Omit “included in the Second. Third or Fourth Division, substitute “other than Secretaries of Departments.

Paragraph 167 (d)

Omit.
