Public Service Regulations2 (Amendment)

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922,hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Medical examination after 13 weeks sick leave

1. Regulation 56 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting “Inspector” and substituting “Regional Director”.

Certificate as to fitness to resume

2. Regulation 57 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting “Inspector” (wherever occurring) and substituting “Regional Director”.

Study or examination leave

3. Regulation 61a of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting sub-regulation (1) and substituting the following sub-regulation:

“(1) In this regulation—

‘approved student’ means a person who is an approved student within the meaning of Part 9 of the Determination;

‘Determination’ means Public Service Board Determination 1983/10 as amended and in force from time to time;

‘institution’ means a university, college, school, person, group of persons or establishment that is an institution within the meaning of Part 9 of the Determination;

‘scheme of study’ means a course or program of study, research, instruction, training or other educational activity conducted or arranged by an institution.”; and

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) “2 years” and substituting “3 years”.

Board to be notified of certain appointments

4. Regulation 109c of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting “Inspector” and substituting “Regional Director”.
