I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby approve the following Regulations.

“72q. (1) In this regulation—
‘deputy’ means a person who is a member of the Joint Council by virtue of a nomination under sub-regulation 72b (3) and is not an officer or employee;
‘representative’ means a person who is a member of the Joint Council by virtue of a nomination under paragraph 72b
( 1) (d) and is not an officer or employee.
“(2) A person—
(a) who is a representative and who travels to attend a meeting referred to in regulation 72d or a sub-committee meeting referred to in regulation 72h; or
(b) who is a deputy and who travels to attend a meeting referred to in regulation 72D,
shall be paid such allowances as would be payable in respect of the expenses of that travel under any determinations under section 82d of the Act by way of travelling allowance, meal allowance or an allowance in respect of the use of a motor vehicle if the person were occupying a Senior Executive Service office having a Level 1 classification and if the person’s normal place of residence were the person’s headquarters for the purposes of those determinations.
“(3) A person who is a deputy and who travels to attend a sub-committee meeting referred to in regulation 72h shall be paid such allowances as would be payable in respect of the expenses of that travel under any determinations under section 82d of the Act by way of travelling allowance, meal allowance or an allowance in respect of the use of a motor vehicle if the person were occupying an office in the Service having a Clerical Administrative Class 11 classification and if the person’s normal place of residence were the person’s headquarters for the purposes of those determinations.”.
