Public Service Regulations2 (Amendment)

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922,hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Appeals against directions to act

1. Regulation 116aof the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulations (3), (4) and (5) “sub-regulation (1)” and substituting “sub-regulation 116 (1)”.

Employees to whom Part X applies

2. Regulation 165 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) “An” and substituting “Subject to sub-regulation (1a), an”; and

(b) by inserting after sub-regulation (1) the following sub-regulation:

“(1a) An employee who is not an employee to whom paragraph 63t (a) or (b) of the Act applies and has been engaged by a Department to serve for a period of not less than 1 year on the understanding that on the granting of Australian citizenship to that employee that employee will be appointed to the Service is not an employee to whom this Part applies.”.
