Public Service Regulations2 (Amendment)

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred on it by the Public Service Act 1922,hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby approve the following Regulations.

1. After regulation 171a of the Public Service Regulations the following regulation is inserted:

(S.R. 268/85) Cat. No.  12/20.1.1986

 

Appointment that is a public office: Australian Secret Intelligence Service

“171b. An appointment of a person in the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (other than the appointment of a person as the Director-General of that Service) is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph (c) of the definition of ‘public office’ in sub-section 87 (1) of the Act.”.

Schedule 2

2. Schedule 2 to the Public Service Regulations is amended by adding at the end the following item:

“7 Appointment as Director General of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service”.
