Public Service Regulations2 (Amendment)

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 2 February 1987.

2. After regulation 70aa of the Public Service Regulations the following regulation is inserted:

Application of provisions of section 22b of the Act—Australian Broadcasting Corporation

“70ab. (1) For the purposes of sub-section 22b (13) of the Act, section 22B of the Act applies to and in relation to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as if references in section 22b of the Act to the Secretary of a Department were, for the purposes of paragraph 22b (13) (b) of the Act, references to the person for the time being holding, or performing the duties of, the Managing Director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

“(2) For the purposes of paragraph 22b (13) (d) of the Act, the Minister for Communications is the prescribed authority for the purposes of the application of section 22b of the Act in relation to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.”.
