REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE

ACT 1922-1951.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, appointed under the Public Service Act 1922-1951, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the said Act, and subject to the approval, of the Governor-General, hereby makes the following Regulations.

AMENDMENTS OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS. 

Constitution of Promotions Appeal. Committees.

1. Regulation 109D of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting in the table in sub-paragraph (ii) of paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (1.), after the words—

"Supervising Technician, Grade 1

Postal Telecommunication Technicians' Association (Australia)",

the words—

"Supervising Technician, Grade 2 (Telecommunication Group)

Postal Telecommunication Technicians' Association (Australia)

Supervising Technician, Grade 2 (Tradesman Group)

Supervising Technicians' Association".

2. Regulation 109G of the Public Service Regulations is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—

Promotions on the basis of senior efficient officer available.

“109G.—(1.) The following offices shall be proscribed offices for the purpose of sub-section (3A.) of section fifty of the Act:—

Assistant, Grade 1—male.

Assistant, Grade 1—female.

Assistant, Grade 2—male.

Assistant, Grade 2—female.

Assistant Storeman.

Clerical Assistant, Grade 1—male.

Clerical Assistant, Grade 1—female.

Clerical Assistant, Grade 2—female.

Hospital Assistant (Female), Grade 1.

Hospital Assistant (Female), Grade 2.

Labourer.

Lift Attendant.

Line Foreman, Grade 1.

Lineman, Grade 2.

Mail Officer.

Monitor.

Orderly.

Postal Assistant (Mail).

Postal Clerk in the Fourth Division.

Postal Officer.

Preventive Officer, Grade 1.

Quarantine Assistant, Grade 1.

Searcher and Watchman, Grade 1.

Senior Postal Clerk, Grade 1.

Storeman.

Storeman, Grade 1.

Storeman, Grade 2.

Telegraphist in the Fourth Division.

"(2.) The senior efficient officer available for promotion to an office specified in the last preceding sub-regulation shall be selected for promotion to that office.".
