REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE

ACT 1922-1953.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1953, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations. 

Meal allowances

1. Regulation 68 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by Meal allowances, omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words "paragraphs (b), (c) or (d)" and inserting in their stead the words "paragraph (a), (c) or (d)" .

District allowances, rates and conditions of.

2.—(1.) Regulation 101 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from the column headed "Married Officers" in the table in sub-regulation (1.) the figures "125", "150" and "175" and inserting in their stead the figures "135", "165" and "200", respectively.

(2.) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the twentieth day of August, 1953.

Salaries of officers of the Fourth Division.

3. Regulation 106 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (5.) and inserting in its stead the following table :—

4. After regulation 110a of the Public Service Regulations, the following regulation is inserted :—

Sectional seniority.

110b,—(1.) Notwithstanding anything contained in regulation 110 of these Regulations, the relative seniority of officers of the Fourth Division who occupy the offices of Technician (Instrument Maker), Technician (Mail), Technician (Telecommunications), Technician (Toolmaker) and Technician (Tradesman) in the Postmaster-General's Department shall for the purpose of promotion or temporary transfer to the office of Senior Technician (Mail), Senior Technician (Telecommunications) or Senior Technician (Tradesman) be determined—

(a) by the respective dates upon which the officers were first appointed, advanced, transferred or promoted to the office of Technician (Instrument Maker), Technician (Mail), Technician (Telecommunications), Technician (Toolmaker) or Technician (Tradesman) ;

(b) where two or more of the officers were appointed, advanced, transferred or promoted as Technician (Instrument Maker), Technician (Mail), Technician (Telecommunications), Technician (Toolmaker) or Technician (Tradesman) on the same date-by the respective dates of their appointment to the Commonwealth Service; or

(c) where two or more of the officers were appointed to the Commonwealth Service on the same date—by the Board.".

5. Regulation 133 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words "in duplicate ",
