REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1955.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1955, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations. 

Leave of absence for Service with International Organizations.

1. Regulation 61a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting, after the words—

"International Trade Organization;",

the words—

"New Hebrides Condominium Administration;".

2. Regulation 75a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

3. Regulation 76 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

Allowances to Veterinary owners and Meat Inspectors,

4. Regulation 79b of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

5. Regulation 95d of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting, after the word "officer" (wherever occurring), the words "or employee".

Reimbursement of fares— Remote districts.

6. Regulation 98 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting after sub-regulation (7.) the following sub-regulation :—

"(7a.) Reimbursement of an amount in respect of fares under this regulation shall not be granted to an officer more than once in respect of each two years of his service at a locality included in a determination of the Board under sub-regulation (3.) of regulation 49 of these Regulations.".

Rates and conditions of district allowances.

7.—(1.) Regulation 101 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table :—

(2.) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of July, 1956.

Maximum salary for purposes of certain appeals.

8. Regulation 109h of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) the figures "£1,173" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,263" ; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) the figures £1,019" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,109".

Seniority.

9. Regulation 110 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (b) of the proviso to sub-regulation (6a.) the words "fourteen days" and inserting in their stead the words "twenty-eight days".
