REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1958.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1958, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations. 

Commencement.

1. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of September, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-eight.

Officer not to lose: salary whilst acting as a member of Joint Council or Classification Committee.

2. Regulation 72p of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2.).

3. Regulation 75a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

Rates of travelling allowances.

4. Regulation 75a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

"(2.) Notwithstanding anything contained in the last preceding sub-regulation, the travelling allowance payable to an officer who is—

(a) a member of an Appeal Board or of a Board of Inquiry;

(b) a member of a Classification Committee; or

(c) a member of the Joint Council,

and who is required to travel in the course of his duty as such a member, shall be at the rate of Three pounds seventeen shillings per day.".

Allowances to officers performing relieving duties or working within defined districts.

5. Regulation 76 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

Allowances to Veterinary Officers and Meat Inspectors.

6. Regulation 79b of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words "Veterinary Officers in Grades 1 and 2, and Meat Inspectors" and inserting in their stead the words "Veterinary Officers and Meat Inspector "; and

(b) by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

£2 6s. per day (£3 8s. per day in Capital Cities)

7. Regulation 79b of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words", Grades 1 and 2,".
