REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1958.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1958, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations. 

Recording and payment of overtime.

1. Regulation 67 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (14.) the words “Department of Trade and Customs and the Department of Commerce and Agriculture” and inserting in their stead the words “Department of Customs and Excise and the Department of Primary Industry”.

Meal allowance.

2. Regulation 68 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words “Seven shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Eight shillings”.

Camping and lodging allowance.

3. Regulation 89 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “Twelve shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Fifteen shillings and sixpence”;

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b)of that sub-regulation the words “Fourteen shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Seventeen shillings and sixpence”;

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words “Four pounds fourteen shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Five pounds fourteen shillings”;

(d) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (5.) the words “Seven pounds five shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Nine pounds four shillings”; and

(e) by omitting from paragraph (b)of that sub-regulation the words “Seven pounds five shillings” and “Four pounds fourteen shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Nine pounds four shillings” and “Five pounds fourteen shillings”, respectively.

Miscellaneous allowances.

4. Regulation 89a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting in sub-regulation (3.), after the word “telephonists”, the words “or phonogram operators”.

Salaries of officers on promotion.

5. Regulation 109b of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the proviso to sub-regulation (2.).

Promotions on the basis of senior efficient officer available.

6. Regulation 109g of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words—

“Line Foreman, Grade 1.”.

Conditions of transfer from Fourth Division to Third Division.

7. Regulation 112 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (6.).
