REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1960.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1960, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

AMENDMENTS OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS. 

Meal allowance.

1. Regulation 68 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words “Eight shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Nine shillings”.

2. Regulation 75a of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table: —

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words “Three pounds seventeen shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Four pounds ten shillings”; and

(c) by omitting sub-regulation (3.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

“(3.) After an officer or employee has resided in the one locality for a period of twenty-one days, the officer or employee shall be paid an allowance equal to the amount expended by the officer or employee on accommodation, sustenance and incidental expenses or, if the Board is satisfied that the amount so expended is not reasonable having regard to the status of the officer or employee and the purposes for which the officer or employee is performing duty whilst absent from his headquarters, such amount as the Board considers reasonable in the circumstances.”.

Allowances to officers performing relieving duties or working within defined districts.

3. Regulation 76 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting the words “, subject to the provisions of sub-regulation (3.) of regulation 75A,” (wherever occurring); and

(b) by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

4. Regulation 79B of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—
