REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1960.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1960, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations 

Taking of recreation leave.

1. Regulation 48 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from the first proviso the words, "and any such case shall be reported to the Board by the Chief Officer"; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

" (2.) The last preceding sub-regulation does not prevent the grant to an officer of a period of leave of absence for

recreation equal to a period of leave that lapsed by virtue of the last preceding sub-regulation where the Board is satisfied that the officer has been prevented by illness from taking the period of leave that lapsed.".

Prescribed organizations for the purposes of section 72a of the Act.

2. Regulation 61a of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting after the words—

"Council for Technical Co-operation in South and South-East Asia"

the words—

"European Organization for the Development and Construction of Space Vehicle Launchers;".

and

(b) by inserting after the words—

"New Hebrides Condominium Administration;"

the words—

"Preparatory Group of the European Organization for the Development and Construction of Space Vehicle Launchers;".

Additional allowance to officers moving from temporary stations.

3. Regulation 79 of the Public Service Regulations is repealed.

Maximum salary for purposes of certain appeals.

4. Regulation 109h of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) the figures "£1,408" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,738"; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) the figures "£1,254" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,584".

Sectional seniority.

5.—(1.) Regulation 110a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words "of the Fourth Division".

(2.) Regulation 110a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from the Table in sub-regulation (2.) the words—

" 2. Senior Technician (Radio) (Department of Civil Aviation)

Supervising Technician (Radio) (any grade) (Department of Civil Aviation) "

and inserting in their stead the words—

"2. Senior Technician (Radio) (Department of Civil Aviation)

Supervising Technician (Radio) (any grade) (Department of Civil Aviation)

Technical Instructor, Grade 2 (Department of Civil Aviation) (being an office involving the instruction of radio trainees, radio technicians or radio tradesmen)

Senior Technical Instructor (any grade) (Department of Civil Aviation) (being an office involving the instruction of radio trainees, radio technicians or radio tradesmen)".

Conditions of transfer from Fourth Division to Third Division.

6. Regulation 112 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting in sub-regulation (4.), after the word "Commonwealth," the words, "has passed another examination approved by the Board (being an examination of a standard that, in the opinion of the Board, is at least equal to the standard of one of those Examinations)".
