REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1960.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1960, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

AMENDMENTS OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS.  

Modification of application of certain provisions.

1. Regulation 3A of the Public Service Regulations is repealed.

Calculation of pay for duty on a holiday.

2. Regulation 63 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (4.) the figures "£1,366" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,419";

(b) by omitting from sub-paragraph (ii) of that paragraph the figures "£1,212" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,265"; and

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (5.) the figures "£2,389" and "£2,235" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,450" and "£2,296", respectively.

Recording and payment for overtime.

3. Regulation 67 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (6B.) the figures "£1,366" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,419";

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (6B.) the figures "£1,212" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,265";

(c) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (6D.) the figures "£2,389" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,450";

(d) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (6D.) the figures "£2,235" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,296";

(e) by omitting from sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (13.) the figures "£2,389" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,450"; and

(f) by omitting from sub-paragraph (ii) of that paragraph the figures "£2,235" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,296".

Travelling time.

4. Regulation 69 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the figures "£1,366" and "£1,212" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,419" and "£1,265", respectively.

Sunday duty.

5. Regulation 70 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (d) of sub-regulation (5.) the figures "£2,389" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,450";

(b) by omitting from sub-paragraph (ii) of that paragraph the figures "£2,235" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,296";

(c) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (5A.) the figures "£1,366" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,419"; and

(d) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (5A.) the figures "£1,212" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,265".

Rates of travelling allowances.

6. Regulation 75A of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

7. Regulation 87 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (3.) the figures "£1,245" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,297";

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (3.) the figures "£1,091" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,143";

(c) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (17.) the figures "£2,246" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,306"; and

(d) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (17.) the figures "£2,092" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,152".

Allowance—Sunday or holiday duty.

8. Regulation 99 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the figures "£2,389" and "£2,235" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,450" and "£2,296", respectively.

Salaries payable to officers of the Second and Third Divisions.

9. Regulation 104 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

"(1.) For the purposes of sub-section (2.) of section 30 of the Act, the rate of annual salary or the scale of rates of annual salary payable to a male officer who occupies an office in the Second Division or the Third Division is, subject to this regulation, that rate or scale of rates specified in Table A, Table B or Table C in this sub-regulation which is appropriate to that office having regard to its classification.

Maximum salary for purposes of certain appeals.

11. Regulation 109H of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) the figures "£1,850" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,907"; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) the figures "£1,696" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,753".

Temporary transfer.

12. Regulation 116 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1C.) the figures "£2,532" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,594".

First Schedule.

13. The First Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting designation numbers 46, 156, 163, 164, 165, 293, 462, 604, 653, 654 and 703 and the particulars opposite to each of those numbers and inserting in their stead, respectively, the following designation numbers and particulars:—

Second Schedule.

14. The Second Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from items 6, 23, 25, 27 and 31 the figures "£55" and inserting in their stead the figures "£61".

Fifth Schedule.

15. The Fifth Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is repealed.

Authority for payment of allowances.

16. The Public Service Board may authorize the payment of an allowance, in respect of the period that commenced on the second day of May, 1963, and ended on the day immediately before the commencement of these Regulations, to each officer and employee of such an amount as would result in the total remuneration of the officer or employee being not less than the total remuneration that would have been payable to the officer or employee in respect of that period if the amendments made by these Regulations had taken effect on the second day of May, 1963.
