REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1964.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1964, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations 

Salaries payable to officers of the Fourth Division.

1. Regulation 106 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from item 2 in the table in sub–regulation (3.) the words “Launch Boy;”; and

(b)by inserting in that item, after the word “Boathand;”, the word “Boatman;”.

Second Schedule.

6. The Second Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting items 8, 17, 30, 47, 48 and 51 and inserting in their stead respectively, the following items:—

“8 Foreman Mechanic (Aircraft)............................................................

1. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £32 per annum if there are two of the following categories, namely, ‘engines’, ‘airframes’, ‘electrical installations’ or ‘ instrument installations ’ endorsed on his current licence, each with a rating authorising him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft of a kind operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation.

2. He shall, if there are so endorsed more than two of those categories each with a rating authorising him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft of a kind operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation, be paid an allowance at the rate of £32 per annum for each of those categories in excess of the first two.

3. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £8 per annum for each Category ‘ A ’ extension endorsed on his licence for an aircraft of a kind operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation if the duties of his office require him to certify with respect to the work authorised by the extension.

4. (a) He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £10 per annum for each of the first two ratings in Group 1 in respect of each of the categories ‘engines’ and ‘airframes’ endorsed on his current licence, being a rating authorising him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation.

(b)He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £13 per annum for each rating in Group 2 in respect of each of the categories ‘engines’ and ‘airframes’ endorsed on his current licence, being a rating authorising him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft of a kind operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation.

(c) He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £16 per annum for each rating in Group 3 in respect of each of the categories ‘engines’ and ‘airframes’ endorsed on his current licence, being a rating authorising him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft of a kind operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation.

 

“8 Foreman Mechanic (Aircraft)—continued.

(d)The allowance payable under the preceding provisions of this paragraph in respect of ratings in each category shall not exceed the maximum amount ascertained m accordance with those provisions in respect of any eight ratings in that category

5. (a) He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £26 per annum for each category if a Group 2 rating in the categories ‘electrical installations’ or ‘instrument installations’ is endorsed on his current licence, being a rating authorising him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft of a kind operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation

(b) He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £16 per annum for each rating in Group 3 in the categories ‘electrical installations’ or ‘instrument installations’ endorsed on his current licence, being a rating authorising him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft of a land operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation

(c) The allowance payable under the preceding provisions of this paragraph shall not exceed £128 per annum in respect of each category

6. He shall, if he is not entitled to payment of an allowance in pursuance of paragraph 5, be paid, in respect of each category, an allowance at the rate of £20 per annum if a Group 1 rating in the categories ‘electrical installations’ or ‘instrument installations’ is endorsed on his current licence, being a rating authorising him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft of a land operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation”,

“17 Nurse (Male)...........................................................................

1. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £70 per annum while in charge of an operating theatre

2. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £39 per annum in respect of each post graduate nursing certificate of the College of Nursing, Australia or the New South Wales College of Nursing recognized by the Board and held by him if he performs duties of the kind to which the certificate relates

3. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £26 per annum in respect of each post-graduate nursing certificate, other than a certificate referred to in the last preceding paragraph, recognized by the Board and held by him if he performs duties of the kind to which the certificate relates.”,

“ 30 Senior Nurse (Male)...........................................................................

1. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £70 per annum while in charge of three, four or five operating theatres

2. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £99 per annum while in charge of six or more operating theatres

3. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £28 per annum while in charge of a ward staffed to accommodate 55 or more patients

4. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £70 per annum while in charge of the Central Sterilizing Department, Repatriation General Hospital, Concord

5. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £48 per annum while employed as Evening Superintendent

6. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £70 per annum while employed as Night Superintendent

7. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £39 per annum in respect of each post-graduate nursing certificate of the College of Nursing, Australia or the New South Wales College of Nursing recognized by the Board and held by him if he performs duties of the kind to which the certificate relates.

 

“30 Senior Nurse (Male)—continued.

8. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £26 per annum in respect of each post-graduate nursing certificate, other than a certificate referred to in the last preceding paragraph, recognized by the Board and held by him if he performs duties of the kind to which the certificate relates.”,

“47 Senior Sister.................................................................................

1. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £70 per annum while in charge of three, four or five operating theatres.

2. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £99 per annum while in charge of six or more operating theatres.

3. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £28 per annum while in charge of a ward staffed to accommodate 55 or more patients.

4. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £70 per annum while in charge of the Central Sterilizing Department, Repatriation General Hospital, Concord.

5. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £48 per annum while employed as Evening Superintendent.
