REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1964.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1964, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations 

1. Regulation 63 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

Calculation of pay for duty on a holiday.

(a) by omitting from sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (4.) the figures "£1,419" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,444";

(b) by omitting from sub-paragraph (ii) of that paragraph the figures "£1,265"and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,290"; and

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (5.) the figures "£2,450" and "£2,296" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,491" and "£2,337", respectively.

Recording and payment for overtime.

2. Regulation 67 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (6b.) the figures "£1,419" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,444";

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (6b.) the figures "£1,265" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,290";

(c) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (6d.) the figures "£2,450" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,491";

(d) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (6d.) the figures "£2,296" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,337";

3. Regulation 69 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the figures "£1,419" and "£1,265" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,444" and "£1,290" respectively.

Sunday duty.

4. Regulation 70 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (d) of sub-regulation (5.) the figures "£2,450" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,491";

(b) by omitting from sub-paragraph (ii) of that paragraph the figures "£2,296" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,337";

(c) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (5a.) the figures "£1,419" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,444"; and

(d) by omitting from paragraph (b) of that sub-regulation the figures "£1,265" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,290".

Rates of travelling allowance.

5. Regulation 75a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

7. Regulation 87 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

Allowance in addition to salary.

10.—(1.) Regulation 105 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

"(1.) An officer of the Third Division—

(a) who occupies an office or performs the duties of an office of Telegraphist;

(b) who has passed an examination approved by the Board for the purpose of this sub-regulation; and

(c) whose rate of annual salary is less than £1,160,

shall be paid an allowance at a rate ascertained in accordance with the table in this sub-regulation,

12. Regulation 106a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from the table in sub-regulation (5.) the figures "£622" and inserting in their stead the figures "£693".

Maximum salary for purposes of certain appeals.

13. Regulation 109h of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) the figures "£2,666" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,710"; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) the figures "£2,512" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,556".

Conditions of transfer from Fourth Division to Third Division.

14. Regulation 112 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the figures "£1,175" and inserting in their stead the figures "£1,196".

Temporary transfer.

15. Regulation 116 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1c.) the figures "£2,666" and inserting in their stead the figures "£2,710".

First and Second Schedules.

16. The First Schedule, and the Second Schedule, to the Public Service Regulations are repealed and the following Schedules inserted in their stead:—

Authority for payment of allowance.

18. The Public Service Board may authorize the payment of an allowance, in respect of the period that commenced on the eighth day of July, 1965, and ended on the day immediately before the commencement of these Regulations, to each officer and employee of such an amount as would result in the total remuneration of the officer or employee being not less than the total remuneration that would have been payable to the officer or employee in respect of that period if the amendments made by these Regulations had taken effect on the eighth day of July, 1965.
