STATUTORY RULES

1966 No. 91

REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1964.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1964, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations  

Miscellaneous allowances.

1. Regulation 89a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the figures " $0.08 " and inserting in their stead the figures " $0.09 ".

Living out allowance— Nursing Staff.

2. Regulation 96a of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the definition of " office to which this regulation applies " and inserting in its stead the following definition:—

" ' office to which this regulation applies ' means any of the following offices:—

Nurse (Male)

Matron, Grade 1

Nurse (Male) (Special)

Matron, Grade 2

Senior Nurse (Male)

Matron, Grade 3

Sister

Matron, Grade 4

Senior Sister

Matron, Grade 5

Tutor Nurse (Male)

Matron, Grade 6

Tutor Sister

Deputy Senior Matron

Senior Tutor Sister

Senior Matron, Grade 1

Assistant Matron

Senior Matron, Grade 2 ";

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words " female nursing staff " and inserting in their stead the words " nursing staff "; and

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words " a female officer " and inserting in their stead the words " an officer ".

Seniority.

3. Regulation 110 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a)

by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words " The relative seniority " and inserting in their stead the words " Subject to this regulation, the relative seniority ";

(b)

by omitting from sub-regulation (5.) the words " The relative seniority " and inserting in their stead the words " Subject to this regulation, the relative seniority "; and

(c)

by inserting after sub-regulation (6a.) the following sub-regulations:—

" (6aa.) The relative seniority of officers of the Fourth Division appointed, on or after the first day of June, 1966, as officers of that Division shall be determined by the respective dates on which they commence duty as officers.

 

" (6ab.) The relative seniority of officers of the Second Division and of the Third Division appointed, on or after the first day of June, 1966, as officers of either of those Divisions shall be determined by the respective dates on which they commence to perform duty as officers in whichever of those Divisions they first commence duty as officers.

 

" (6ac.) For the purposes of sub-regulation (6aa.) of this regulation, an officer shall be deemed to have been appointed to the Fourth Division on or after the first day of June, 1966, if the certificate of appointment in respect of him is issued by the Board on or after that date.

 

" (6ad.) For the purposes of sub-regulation (6ab.) of this regulation—

(a)

an officer shall be deemed to have been appointed to the Second Division or the Third Division on or after the first day of June, 1966, if the certificate of appointment in respect of him is issued by the Board on or after that date; and

(b)

an officer who is transferred to the Third Division from the Fourth Division shall 'be deemed to have been appointed to the Third Division on the date on which he commenced, or is deemed to have commenced, duty in the Fourth Division or the date that is two years before the date of his transfer, whichever is the later.

" (6ab.) For the purposes of sub-regulations (6aa.) and (6ab.) of this regulation—

(a)

if, on the date on which the certificate of appointment is issued by the Board in respect of a person, the person is a temporary employee, he shall be deemed to have commenced duty as an officer on the day on which the certificate of appointment in respect of him is issued by the Board; and

(b)

if an officer commenced duty within twenty-eight days after the date on which written notification was given by the Chief Officer or the Board to him requesting him to commence duty, he shall be deemed to have commenced duty as an officer on the day on which the certificate of appointment in respect of him is issued by the Board.".

4. The First Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended as set out in the First Schedule to these Regulations.

Second Schedule.

5. The Second Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended as set out in the Second Schedule to these Regulations.

Fourth Schedule.

6 The Fourth Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended as set put in the Third Schedule to these Regulations.
