REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1967.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1967, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations 

Parts.

1. Regulation 2 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting after the words—

" Division V.—Woomera Allowance (Regulation 103a)."

the words—

" Division VI.—Broken Hill Allowance (Regulation 103b).".

Camping and lodging allowance.

2. Regulation 89 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting: after sub-regulation (5.) the following sub-regulation:—

" (5a.) Where—

(a) by reason of the nature of his duties, an officer is required to be absent from his headquarters on a tour of duty;

(b) the officer is, whilst on a tour of duty required to camp out, other than in a base camp established by his Department, in a caravan or in a hut and to move camp from place to place; and

(c) the officer has, whilst on that tour of duty, received, by reason of having so camped out, an allowance at the rate specified in subparagraph (i) or (ii) of paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (2.) of this regulation for not less than thirty days,

the officer shall be paid, in addition to any payment under the preceding provisions of this regulation, an allowance at the rate of $1.50 per day for each day on which he receives the allowance at the rate specified in sub-paragraph (i) or (ii) of paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (2.) of this regulation whilst on that tour of duty".

3. After Division V. of Part III. of the Public Service Regulations the following Division is inserted:—

" Division VI.Broken Hill Allowance.

Broken Hill allowance.

" 103b.—(1.) An officer included in a class of officers specified in the first column of the table in this sub-regulation who is stationed at Broken Hill shall be paid an allowance equal to the amount per annum specified in the second column of that table opposite to the description of the class of officers in which he is included.

" (2.) An allowance payable under the last preceding sub-regulation is in addition to any other allowance payable under these Regulations.

" (3.) In this regulation,
