REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1967.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1967, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations 

Salaries payable to officers of the Third Division.

1. Regulation 105 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from the table in sub-regulation (9.) the words " Chief Technical Officer, Grade 2 " and inserting in their stead the words " Chief Technical Officer, Grade 3 ".

Notification of, and appeals against, provisional promotions.

2. Regulation 109 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (1B.) the words, " other than an office in the Postmaster-General's Department or the Department of Civil Aviation "; and

(b) by omitting paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (1b.).

Appeals in relation to the Northern Territory and other Territories and places, outside Australia.

3. Regulation 109e is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (7.) the words " Australian Capital Territory " and inserting in their stead the words " State in which he was located immediately prior to his posting overseas ".

Fourth Schedule.

6.—(1.) Part I. of the Fourth Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended as set out in the Third Schedule to these Regulations.

(2.) The Fourth Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is further amended by omitting Part III. and inserting in its stead the Part set out in the Fourth Schedule to these Regulations.

 SECOND SCHEDULE  Regulation 5.

AMENDMENTS OF THE SECOND SCHEDULE TO THE

PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS

After item 8, insert the following item:—

9 Machine Operator...............................................

1. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of $87.00 per annum if he has been certified as competent to perform and is required to perform " off line " cipher work.

Omit item 13, insert the following item:—

13 Mechanic (Aircraft) Senior Mechanic (Aircraft) Foreman Mechanic (Aircraft) Inspector Aircraft

1. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of $84.00 per annum if there are two of the following categories, namely, 'engines', 'airframes', 'electrical installations' or 'instrument installations' endorsed on his current licence, each with a rating authorizing him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft of a kind operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation.

2. He shall, if there are so endorsed more than two of those categories each with a rating authorizing him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft of a kind operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation, be paid an allowance at the rate of $84 00 per annum for each of those categories in excess of the first two.

3. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of $21.00 per annum for each Category 'A' extension endorsed on his licence for an aircraft of a kind operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation if the duties of his office require him to certify with respect to the work authorized by the extension.

4. (a) He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of $26.00 per annum for each of the first two ratings in Group 1 in respect of each of the categories 'engines', 'airframes', 'electrical installations' and 'instrument installations' endorsed on his current licence, being a rating authorizing him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation.

(b) He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of $32.00 per annum for each rating in Group 2 in respect of each of the categories 'engines', 'airframes', 'electrical installations' and 'instrument installations' endorsed on his current licence, being a rating authorizing him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft of a kind operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation.

(c) He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of $42.00 per annum for each rating in Group 3 in respect of each of the categories 'engines', 'airframes', 'electrical installations' and 'instrument installations' endorsed on his current licence, being a rating authorizing him to exercise the privileges of the licence on aircraft of a kind operated or repaired by the Department of Civil Aviation.

(d) The allowance payable under the preceding provisions of this paragraph in respect of ratings in each category shall not exceed the maximum amount ascertained in accordance with those provisions in respect of any eight ratings in that category.
