REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1968.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1968, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby approve the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations 

Chairman of Board, &c., to have powers of Permanent Head under these Regulations.

1. Regulation 4b of the Public Service Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“ (4.) The First Parliamentary Counsel has all the powers of, or exercisable by, a Permanent Head under these Regulations so far as those powers relate to the branch of the Commonwealth Service comprising the staff referred to in sub-section (1.) of section 16 of the Parliamentary Counsel Act 1970 as if that branch were a separate Department.”.

Delegation by Permanent Head.

2. Regulation 4c of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words “ and the Commissioner of Trade Practices ” and inserting in their stead the words “, the Commissioner of Trade Practices and the First Parliamentary Counsel ”.

Variations of salaries.

3. Regulation 106a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting in paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (2.), after the word “ in ” (second occurring), the words “ Part I. of ”.

First Schedule.

4.—(1.) Part I. of the First Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended as set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.

(2.) Part II. of the First Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting Group 440 and inserting in its stead the following group:—

Fourth Schedule.

5. Part IV. of the Fourth Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting Group 1 and inserting in its stead the following group:—
