REGULATION UNDER THE PUBLIC
SERVICE ACT 1922-1968.*
THE PUBLIC
SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon
it by the Public Service Act 1922-1968, hereby makes, subject to the
approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulation.

Public Service Regulations
Second
Schedule.
The Second Schedule to the Public Service
Regulations is amended as set out in the Schedule to this Regulation.
THE SCHEDULE
Amendments of the
Second Schedule to the Public Service Regulations
Omit item
1, insert the following items:—
1 | Airways
Telecommunications Officer, Grade 1 | He shall be paid an allowance at the rate
of $178 per annum if— |
(a) he has passed the test
conducted by or on behalf of the Board for the purpose; and
|
(b) his rate of annual salary is less than $4351.

1aaa | Apprentice……………………… | 1. He shall, if he obtains a pass in each of
the subjects at an |
Apprentice Telecommunications Tradesman | examination held at the end
of a year of his course of training, be paid an allowance at the rate of $26
per annum in respect of the period of 12 months commencing from the beginning
of the first pay period commencing in the month of January in the next
succeeding year.

2. In addition to the allowance specified
in the last preceding paragraph he shall, if the total of the marks awarded
to him at that examination is not less than 75 per centum of the total marks
it was possible to award at that examination, be paid an allowance at the
rate of $26 per annum in respect of the period of 12 months commencing from
the beginning of the first pay period commencing in the month of January in
the next succeeding year.

of $148 per annum while he is in administrative control of the airport at
which he is employed.

Telecommunications Tradesman | (a) he is employed—

(i) at a carrier repeater
station;

station;

(iii) at a trunk line
testing station;

Telecommunications Technical Officer,
Grade 1 | (iv) at a telegraph
repeating station;
|
(v) at a chief
telegraph office on telegraph maintenance duties;
|
Telecommunications Technical Officer,
Grade 2 |
(vi) at a
national broadcasting station; or
|
Senior Telecommunications Technical
Officer, Grade 1
| (vii) at an
overseas radio terminal;
|
(b) he
has demonstrated his proficiency to send and receive morse signals at the
rate of twenty words per minute; and
|
Senior Telecommunications Technical
Officer, Grade 2
|
Senior Telecommunications Technical
Officer, Grade 3
| (c) the
Assistant Director has certified that the officer is required, in the
performance of his duties, to send and receive messages by morse signals.
