REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT
1922-1973.*
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Executive Council, and on the recommendation of the President of
the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, hereby make the
following Regulations under the Public Service Act 1922-1973.

Amendments of the Public Service (Parliamentary
Officers)
Regulations
1.
Regulation 23 of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is
repealed and the following regulation substituted:—
Public comment.
“ 23. An officer shall not use for
any purpose, other than for the discharge of his official duties, information
gained by or conveyed to him through his connexion
with the Parliamentary Service.”.
Meal allowance.
2.
Regulation 55 of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations isamended
by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the figures “ $1.80 ” and substituting the
figures “ $2.00 ”.
Rates of travelling allowance.
3.
Regulation 57 of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is
amended—
(a)
by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the figures “ $28.00 ”, “ $20.00 ”, “ $19.65
” and “ $14.75 ” and substituting the figures “ $31.50 ”, “ $22.50 ”, “ $22.50 ”
and “ $17.00 ” respectively; and
(b)
by omitting from sub-regulation (2) the figures “ $28.00 ” and substituting the
figures “ $31.50 ”.
Allowances payable for use for official purposes of
private vehicle.
4. Regulation 68a
of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from
sub-regulation (4) the words “ each mile ” (first occurring) and substituting
the words “ each kilometre ”; and

Regulation 68b of the Public
Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended—
(a)
by omitting from sub-regulation (2) the words “ each mile ” and substituting
the words “ each kilometre ”; and
(b)
by omitting the table in sub-regulation (2) and substituting the following
table:—
