REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1968.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, and on the recommendation of the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, hereby make the following Regulations under the Public Service Act 1922-1968.

Amendments of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations

First Schedule.

1. The First Schedule to the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended by omitting item 14 and inserting in its stead the following item:—

Second Schedule-Part I.

2.—(1.) Part I. of the Second Schedule to the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended by omitting items 21 and 22 and inserting in their stead the following items:—

(2.) Part I. of the Second Schedule to the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended by omitting item 26 and inserting in its stead the following item:—

(3.) Part I. of the Second Schedule to the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended by omitting item 28 and inserting in its stead the following item:—

(4.) Part I. of the Second Schedule to the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended by omitting item 30 and inserting in its stead the following item:—

Second Schedule-Part II.

3. Part II. of the Second Schedule to the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended by omitting items 2 and 3 and inserting in their stead the following items:—

Application.

4. The Parliamentary Head may authorize the payment of an allowance, in respect of the period that commenced on the twenty-ninth day of August, 1968, and ended on the day immediately before the commencement of these Regulations, to an officer who occupied the office of—

(a) Mechanical Maintenance Officer;

(b) Assistant Mechanic-in-charge (Air-conditioning);

(c) Senior Fitter (Electrical);

(d) Mechanic-in-charge (Air-conditioning); or

(e) Fitter-in-charge (Electrical),

during the whole or a part of that period of such an amount as would result in the total remuneration of the officer for the whole or the part of that period being not less than the total remuneration that would have been payable to the officer if the amendments made by these Regulations had taken effect on the twenty-ninth day of August, 1968.
