s1 2 s5 Public Service Management and Employment (Departmental Changes) No. 33, 1996 ˙ Short title 1. This order in council may be cited as the Public Service Management and Employment (Departmental Changes) Order 1996 . ˙ Creation of Department of Economic Development and Trade 2. A department of government is brought into being by amalgamating the following parts of the Department of the Premier, Economic and Trade Development and declaring the entity so formed to be a department of government called the Department of Economic Development and Trade— • Economic Development Division • International Trade Development Division • Investment Development Division • Office of Major Projects. ˙ Abolition of Office of Cabinet 3. The entity known as the Office of the Cabinet that is part of the Department of the Premier, Economic and Trade Development is discontinued. ˙ Office of Women’s Affairs 4.(1) An entity called the Office of Women’s Affairs is created and added to the Treasury Department. (2) The Women’s Policy Unit, Office of the Cabinet, Department of the Premier, Economic and Trade Development is amalgamated with the Treasury Department. ˙ Departmental name change 5. The name of the Department of the Premier, Economic and Trade Development is changed to the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.

An office called the Office of the Public Service is created and added to the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. ˙ Consequential amendment of Public Service Management and Employment Act 1988 7. The PublicServiceManagementandEmploymentAct1988 , schedule 1 is amended by omitting all the names of departments specified in the first column and all the titles of the offices specified in the second column, and inserting the names of departments and titles of offices specified in the schedule to this Act.
