This regulation may be cited as the Public Service Management and Employment Amendment Regulation (No. 5) 1991. Amended regulation 2. The Public Service Management and Employment Regulation 1988 is amended as set out in this regulation.

If— (a) there is a reference in the PublicServiceManagementandEmploymentRegulation1988 to a provision of the Public ServiceManagement and Employment Act 1988 ; and (b) the words ‘of the Act’, or words of similar effect, do not appear at the end of the reference; the PublicServiceManagementandEmploymentRegulation1988 is amended by inserting the words ‘of the Act’ at the end of the reference. Insertion of new s. 43GA 4. After section 43G— insert — ‘2.5% salary increase ‘43GA. (1) The entitlement, apart from this section, of a senior executive to annual salary (under section 43C) and additional annual salary, if any, (under section 43G) is increased by 2.5% with effect from the commencement of this section. ‘(2) On the commencement of this section, the senior executive also becomes entitled to a single payment of an amount of salary calculated at the rate of 2.5% per annum of the executive's pre-commencement salary in respect of the qualifying period. ‘(3) In subsection (2)— “pre-commencement salary” , in relation to a senior executive, means the executive's total annual salary (under section 43C) and additional salary, if any, (under section 43G) immediately before the commencement of this section; “qualifying period” means the period beginning on 10 September 1991 and ending immediately before the commencement of this section.

3 Public Service Management and Employment Amendment Regulation (No. 5) 1991 ‘(4) If, apart from this subsection, the senior executive would be entitled under subsection (1) or (2) to an amount consisting of dollars and cents— (a) if the number of cents is less than 50—the amount is rounded down by disregarding the number of cents; and (b) in any other case—the amount is rounded up to the next whole dollar. ’.
