PUBLIC SERVICE (AMENDMENT) ACT.

Act No. 1, 1955.

An Act to provide for the appointment of an educationist as an additional member of the Public Service Board; for this purpose to amend the Public Service Act, 1902, as amended by subsequent Acts; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 24th February, 1955.]

1. This Act may be cited as the "Public Service (Amendment) Act, 1955."

2 . (1) The Public Service Act, 1902, as amended by subsequent Acts, is amended—

(a) by omitting from subsection one of section

seven the word " t h r e e " and by inserting in

lieu thereof the word " f o u r " ;
(b) by inserting next after subsection one of the same section the following new subsection:—

(1A) One of such members shall be a person trained as an educationist who has been an officer and who has been directly concerned with or engaged in teaching or the administration of education.

(2) Nothing in this Act shall affect the continuity of office as members of the Public Service Board of those persons who immediately before the commence- ment of this Act held office as such members.
