PUBLIC SERVICE (AMENDMENT) ACT.

Act No. 12, 1953.

An Act to amend section 1 3 a of tlie Public Service Elizabeth ii,

(Amendment) Act, 1919, as amended by subsequent Acts, in certain respects; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 13th October, 1953.]

T )E it enacted by llie Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, XJ by and with tlic advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Paidiamenl assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 , This Act may be cited as the ‘Mhiblic Service Short title.

(Amendment) Act,

2 . (1) The Public Service (Amendment) Act, 1919, as

(a) by inserting in paragrajih (a) of subsection one of section L!a after the words ‘‘the i)rovisions	Soc. 13a.
(Gratuity- in lieu of

(b) by inserting in the same paragraph after the

figures “ 1902” the words “ as amended by

subsequent Acts” ;

(c)	by inserting in paragraph (b) of the same subsection after the word “ Act” the words “ as so amended” ;
(d)	by omitting from the same subsection the words and figures “ Superannuation Acts, 1916-1928” and by inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures “ Superannuation Act, 1916, as amended by subsequent Acts ’ ’;
(e)	by omitting subsections two and three of the same section.

No. 12,1953. (2) Where any pension to which an officer, w h o before the date on which this Act takes effect has retired from the Public Service under the provisions of sub­ section one of section sixty-six of the Public Service Act, 1902, as amended by subsequent Acts, is entitled under the Superannuation Act, 1916, as amended by subsequent Acts, has not commenced before such date, such pension shall commence from such date.
