I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Part 3A of the Public Sector Management Act 1988, make the following Order.

Explanatory note
The object of this Order is to change the name of the Government Information Management Division of the Department of Public Works and Services to the Office of Information Technology and to transfer it to the Premier's Department with effect on 1 January 1998.
This Order is made under Part 3A of the Public Sector Management Act
1988. and, in particular, sections 55A, 55E and 55G.

1 Name of Order
This Order is the Public Sector Management (Office of
Information Technology) Order 1998.
2 Commencement
This Order is taken to have commenced on 1 January 1998.
3 Notes
The explanatory note does not form part of this Order.
4 Change of name of Government Information Management Division and transfer to Premier's Department
The name of the Government Information Management Division is changed to the Office of Information Technology and it is removed from the Department of Public Works and Services and added to the Premier's Department.
5 Construction of references to Government Information
Management Division
A reference in any Act or statutory instrument, or in any other instrument, or in any contract or agreement, to the Government Information Management Division is to be construed as a reference to the Office of Information Technology.
