Energy and Utilities) Order 2000

Public Sector Management Act 1988

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Part 3A of the Public Sector Management Act 1988, make the following Order.

Explanatory note

The object of this Order is to repeal a subclause of an order that made provision for the transfer of certain staff from the Department of Energy to the Department of Fair Trading, when the Department of Energy was abolished and the Ministry of Energy and Utilities was established.

Explanatory note

The Department of Fair Trading was assigned the responsibility for matters of consumer protection formerly assigned to the Department of Energy, and it was intended that the staff of the abolished Department of Energy principally involved in those matters would be transferred to the Department of Fair Trading.

However, no staff were within the category covered by the subclause, and the responsibility for those matters is to be transferred to the Ministry of Energy and Utilities. The repeal of the subclause reflects this transfer of responsibility.

Utilities) Order 2000

1     Name of Order

This Order is the Public Sector Management (Ministry of Energy and
Utilities) Order 2000.

2 Repeal of clause 12 (1) of Public Sector Management (General) Order 1999

Clause 12 (1) of the Public Sector Management (General) Order 1999 is repealed.

3     Consequential amendment

Clause 12 (2) of the Public Sector Management (General) Order 1999 is amended by omitting “other”.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Order.
