Public Sector Management Act 1988

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Part 3A of the Public Sector Management Act 1988, make the following Order.

Explanatory note

The object of this Order is to change the name of the Office of Marine Administration (a department of the Public Service) to the Ministry for Forests and Marine Administration, and to transfer the Forestry Adjustment Unit of the Department of Land and Water Conservation to that Ministry. This Order is made under Part 3A of the Public Sector Management Act 1988, and, in particular, under sections 55A, 55B and 55G.

1 Name of Order

This Order is the Public Sector Management (Ministry for

Forests and Marine Administration) Order 1997.

2 Notes

The explanatory note does not form part of this Order.

1. Change of name of Office of Marine Administration to Ministry for Forests and Marine Administration

   The name of the Office of Marine Administration is changed to the Ministry for Forests and Marine Administration.

4 Amendment of Schedule 1 (Departments)

Schedule I to the Public Sector Management Act 1988 is amended:

( a ) by inserting in alphabetical order of departments the

following matter:

Ministry for Forests and Secretary of the Ministry

Marine Administration

(b)

by omitting the following matter:

Office of Marine	Executive Director of the
Administration	Office

5 Transfer of branch

The Forestry Adjustment Unit is removed from the Department of Land and Water Conservation and added to the Ministry for Forests and Marine Administration.

6     Construction of references to Office of Marine Administration

A reference i n any Act or statutory instrument, or in any other instrument. or in any contract or agreement, to the Office of Marine Administration is to be construed as a reference to the

Ministry for Forests and Marine Administration.
