Explanatory note
Under clause 10A of the Public Sector Management (General) Regulation 1996 a Department Head may recommend the appointment of a long-term temporary public servant to an officer position in the Department. Any such recommendation can only be made before 10 January 1998 (being the date that is 12 months after the comencement of clause 10A).
The object of this Regulation is to extend, for a further 6 months, the period in which a Department Head may make a recommendation under clause 1 0 A
This Regulation is made under the Public Sector Management Act 1988,
including section 102 (the general regulation making power).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Public Sector Management (General)
Amendment (Special Appointments) Regulation 1998.

2 Amendment of Public Sector Management (General) Regulation 1996

The Public Sector Management (General) Regulation 1996 is amended as set out in Schedule I.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Clause 10A Entry to positions in Public Service in special cases—long-term temporary employees

Omit “12” from clause 10A (4). Insert instead “18”.
