His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Public Sector Management Act

1988.

Explanatory note

Under clause 10A of the Public Sector Management (General) Regulation

1996, a Department Head may recommend the appointment of a long-term

temporary public servant to an officer position in the Department. Any such recommendation can only be made before 10 July 1997 (being the date that is 6 months after the commencement of clause 10A).

The object of this Regulation is to extend, for a further 6 months, the period in which a Department Head may make a recommendation under clause 10A.

This Regulation is made under the Public Sector Management Act 1988, including section 102 (the general regulation making power).
