His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Public Sector Management Act 1988.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to prescribe the Hawkesbury-Nepean Catchment Trust, the Hunter Catchment Management Trust and the Upper Parramatta River Catchment Trust as bodies that provide a public sector service within the meaning of Schedule 5A to the Public Sector Management Act 1988.

The main consequence of the bodies being prescribed is that the provisions in Schedule 5A relating to the mobility of public sector employees will apply to existing and future employees of the bodies. Those provisions have the effect that an employee who ceases to be employed in a public sector service and immediately commences employment in another public sector service will be able to carry forward accrued entitlements to annual leave, sick leave and maternity leave.

This Regulation is made under the Public Sector Management Act 1988, including the definition of public sector service in clause 1 (I) of Schedule 5A.

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Public Sector Management (General)

Amendment (Public Sector Services) Regulation 1998.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 20 March 1998.

3 Amendment of Public Sector Management (General) Regulation

1996

The Public Sector Management (General) Regulation 1996 is amended as set out in Schedule 1 .

99A Bodies providing public sector services

For the purposes of paragraph (i) of the definition of public sector service in clause 1 (1) of Schedule 58 to the Act, the following bodies are prescribed:

the Hawkesbury-Neapean Catchment

Management Trust constituted under the

Catchment Management Act 1989,

the Hunter Catchment Management Trust constituted under the Catchment Management Act 1989,

the Upper Parramatta River Catchment Trust

constituted under the Water Supply Authorities Act

1987.
