MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 66 and Chapter 4 of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002, make the following Order.

1 Name of Order
This Order is the Public Sector Employment and Management
(Children and other matters) Order 2006.
2 Commencement
This Order commences on 3 April 2006.
3 Definition
In this Order:
document means any Act or statutory instrument, or any other
instrument, or any contract or agreement.
4 Establishment of Office for Children
The Office for Children is established as a Department of the Public Service responsible to the Minister for Community Services and the Minister for Youth.
5 Abolition of Office of the Commission for Children and Young People as a Department and transfer of branches
(1) All branches are removed from the Office of the Commission for
Children and Young People and added to the Office for Children.(2) The Office of the Commission for Children and Young People is
abolished as a Department of the Public Service.6 Abolition of Office of the Children’s Guardian as a Department and transfer of branches
(1) All branches are removed from the Office of the Children’s Guardian
and added to the Office for Children.(2) The Office of the Children’s Guardian is abolished as a Department of
the Public Service.(3) In any document, a reference to the Office of the Children’s Guardian
is to be construed as a reference to the Office for Children.

7 Construction of certain references
(1) In any document, a reference to the Minister for Transport is to be construed as a reference to the Minister for Roads if used in or in relation to the Tow Truck Industry Act 1998. (2) The reference in section 9 (2) (a) of the Tow Truck Industry Act 1998 to an officer of the Department of Transport (required by previous administrative changes orders to be construed as a reference to the Ministry of Transport) is to be construed as a reference to a member of the staff of the Roads and Traffic Authority Division of the Government Service of New South Wales. 8 Amendment of Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002 No 43
Schedule 1 (Divisions of the Government Service) and Schedule 2 (Executive positions (other than non-statutory SES positions)) to the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002 are amended as set out in Schedule 1.
