An Act relating to Public Salaries.

E it Enacted by the Governor of the Province of South Aus- Preamble.

and House of Assembly of the said province, in this present Parlia-

ment assembled, as follows:

1, This Act may be cited as The Public Salarics Act, 1894." Shorttitle.

2. For the period of the finailcial ycar ending the thirtieth day Reductions.

of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, no public salary shall bc increased to a rate exceeding One Hundred and Fifty Pounds per annum except by the increascs provided by Act, or by regulations now in force or departmental custom, and no regulation or departmental custom shall be rescintled or varied during the year so as to affect the increascs to which officers would otherwise havc been entitled; and every public salary exceeding the rate of One Hundred and Fifty Pounds per annum shall be reduced

Interpretation.

3. The expression " public salary" used in this Act includes all salaries, wages, and allowances (except travelling allowances and allowances for servants) payable out of revenue or loan or any public funds to any person, except the officers mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
