I-IEREAS it is expedient to raise, by Treasury Bills, fimds for

therefore Enacted by the Governor of the Province of South Aus-

tralia, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Eouse of Assembly of the said Province, in this present Parliament assembled, as follows:

1. The Treasurer, for the time being, of the said Province may issue, from time to time, Treasury Bills, for the purpose of raising

any sum or sums of money, not exceeding in the aggregate the sum of One Hundred and Thirtv-nine Thousand Pounds s ter l in~; and all such Treasury Bills shhl be prepared, made out, andU&sued

in the manner prescribed by an Act of the present Session of Parliament, intituled An Act to authorize and regulate the issue of Treasury Bills ;" and the principal sums secured by such Bills shall

be payable to the holders thereof on presentation at the expiration of

three years from the date of issne, and shall bear interest at the rate of Threepence for every One IIundred Pounds, by the day, to bc computed from thc day on which such Bills shall be respectively issued and bear date; and such interest shall be paid quarterly, on presentation of the coupon by the holder of such coupon, but no interest shall be payable on any such Bills after the expiration of three years from the date of the same respectively.

All such sums of money as shall be raised by Treasury Bills under the authority of this Act shall be carried to, and form part of, thc Loans for Public Works of the said Province, and shall be ex- pended by the Treasurer, subject to the warrant of the Governor, issued with the advice of the Executivc Council, in and upon the construction of the various public works specified in the Schedule

6. The Treasurer shall, in each.year, cause an account in abstract to be prepared of the wholc reccipts and of the expenditure of a11 moneys advanced to him for the purposes of this Act, for the year preceding, under the scvcral distinct heads of receipt and expenditure, with a statement of the balance of such account, duly audited and certified by the Auditor-General; and a copy of such account shall, on or before the thirtieth day of June, in each year, be publishcd in
