“O r it enacted by tlic Queen’s ]Most Excellent Majesty, by and J O 'vvitli the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of N cav South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows ;—

1. Where any person employed in any branch of the Public FceaiTceivod by

Service receives any fees, pursuant to any statutory or otlier authoritv,

he shall, in respect of those fees, be deemed to be a public accountant roccivod on account

within the meaning of the Audit Act of 1870, and the fees shall Pe

deemed to be money received by him on account of the revenue Avithin

the meaning of the said Act, and shall be paid and accounted for by

him accordingly:

Proviso,

Provided that this Act shall not apply in respect of fees which have been determined hy the Public Service Board as appropriate to the work to he performed hy any person as aforesaid, or fees received hy any person as aforesaid in respect of any office held hy him in any society founded under the law relating to friendly societies for the benefit of public servants only, or fees which the Public Service Board has authorised the said person to receive and retain for his own use,

Short title.

2. This Act shall he construed as one with the Audit Act of

] S70, and may he cited as the “ Public Officers’ Pecs Act, 1896.”
