PUBLIC HOSPITALS (AMEND­

MENT) ACT.

Act No. 23, 1933.

An Act to make further provision relating to acting members and acting chairmen of the Hospitals Commission of New South Wales; to amend the Public Hospitals Act, 1929- 1932, in certain respects and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 20th December, 1933.]

t he same, as follows :—

1 . (1) This Act may be cited as the " P u b l i c Hospi ta l s

(Amendment ) Act, 1933 ," and shall be read with the

Publ ic Hospi ta l s Act, 1929-1932.

(2) The Public Hospi ta l s Act, 1929-1932, as

amended by this Act, may be cited as the Public Hospi ta ls
Act, 1929-1933.

(3) This Act shall commence upon the twenty- second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and th i r ty- three .

shall not be entit led to receive any remunera t ion or emolument whether by way of sa lary or fees or otherwise in his capacity as acting chai rman of the Hospi ta l s Com­ mission of New South Wales . (3)

2 . (1) The t e rm of office as act ing chai rman of the Hospi ta l s Commission of New South Wales of Major the Honorable A r t h u r E d m u n d Colvin, Member of the Legislat ive Council, is hereby extended to and shall ex­ p i re upon the thirty-first day of Ju ly , one thousand nine hundred and thir ty-four.

(2) The said A r t h u r E d m u n d Colvin, Esqu i re ,

(3) The term of office as acting member of the Hospitals Commission of New South Wales of Walter Albert Edward Lewis, Esquire, is hereby extended to and shall expire upon the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four.

(4) The Hospitals Act. 1929-1932, is amended by inserting at the end of subsection 5A of section six the following new paragraph :—

Where an acting chairman or an acting member vacates his office the Governor may appoint a person qualified under this section for appointment as act- ing chairman or acting member (as the case may he) to fill the vacant office. The appointment shall be made for the remainder of the unexpired term of the vacant office.
