I, the Minister for Industrial Relations, in pursuance of sections 5 (1) and 8 (1) of the Public

Holidays Act 2010, make the following Order.

Explanatory note
The object of this Order is to amend the Public Holidays Order 2011 to declare:

(a)	8 December 2017, from 12 midday, as a half-day public holiday for the Muswellbrook Shire Council area, and
(b)	9 February 2018 and 8 February 2019, from 12 midday to 6 pm on each day, as part-day public holidays for the Walcha Council area for the running of the Walcha Cup in each year, and
(c)	16 September 2017, from 12 midday, as a half-day local event day for the Kempsey Shire Council area, and
(d)	7 September 2017, in substitution for 14 September 2017, a local event day in respect of the Ballina

Shire Council area. The date of the Ballina Race Day, originally scheduled for 14 September 2017, has been brought forward to 7 September 2017.

This Order is made under sections 5 (1) and 8 (1) of the Public Holidays Act 2010.

1      Name of Order

This Order is the Public Holidays Amendment (Ballina, Kempsey, Muswellbrook and
Walcha) Order 2017.

2      Commencement

This Order commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Public Holidays Order 2011

(1) Clause 4 Public holidays for a specified part of the State

Insert in appropriate order in the table to the clause:

Muswellbrook Shire Council area	Half-day from 12 midday on 8 December 2017
Walcha Council area	Part-day from 12 midday to 6 pm on 9 February 2018
Walcha Council area	Part-day from 12 midday to 6 pm on 8 February 2019

(2)	Clause 5 Local event days
Omit “14” from the matter relating to Ballina Shire Council area in the table to the clause.
Insert instead “7”.

Insert in appropriate order:
