Public Holidays Amendment Act 2019

The Parliament of Victoria enacts:
1Purpose
The purpose of this Act is to amend the Public Holidays Act 1993 to make provision for certain public holidays in Victoria.
2Commencement
This Act comes into operation on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
3Public holidays
(1)After section 6(f) of the Public Holidays Act 1993 insert—
"(fa)Easter Sunday;".
(2)After section 6(i) of the Public Holidays Act 1993 insert—
"(ia)the Friday before the Australian Football League Grand Final;".
(3)For section 6(k) of the Public Holidays Act 1993 substitute—
"(k)25 December (Christmas Day);
(ka)the Monday after Christmas Day when Christmas Day is a Saturday or the Tuesday after Christmas Day when Christmas Day is a Sunday;".
4Repeal of amending Act
This Act is repealed on the first anniversary of its commencement.
Note
The repeal of this Act does not affect the continuing operation of the amendments made by it (see section 15(1) of the Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984).
