The Australian Capital Territory Executive makes the following Regulations under the Public Health Act 1928.

Principal Regulations

1.  In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Public Health (Sale of Food and Drugs) Regulations.

Commencement

2.  These Regulations commence on the day on which they are notified in the Gazette.

Adulteration

3.  Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulation (1).

Sale of drugs contrary to Regulations

4.  Regulation 9 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) “food or”.

Contents of mixture must be pure

5.  Regulation 12 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulation (3) “the last preceding subregulation” and substituting “subregulation (2)”.

Standard for drugs

6.  Regulation 18 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulation (2) “food or” (wherever occurring).

Powers of inspection and sampling

7.  Regulation 19 of the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a)by omitting from paragraphs (1) (a), (b) and (e) “food or”;

(b)by omitting from subregulation (3) “food or”;

(c)by omitting from subregulation (8) “food or” (wherever occurring); and

(d)by omitting subregulation (9) and substituting the following subregulation:

“(9)  In this regulation, ‘prohibited’ means prohibited under these Regulations.”.

Examination of persons handling food or drugs

8.  Regulation 21 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulation (3) “the last preceding subregulation” and substituting “subregulation (2)”.

Repeal

9.  Regulations 30 and 65 of the Principal Regulations are repealed.

Handling ice for sale

10.  Regulation 77 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “venereal” and substituting “sexually transmitted”.

Filters

11.  Regulation 91 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulation (1) “the last preceding regulation” and substituting “regulation 90”.
