(Amendment)
I, NEAL BLEWETT, the Minister of State for Health, hereby make the following Regulations under the Public Health Ordinance 1928.

Interpretation
1. Regulation 2 of the Public Health (Meat) Regulations is amended by
omitting the definition of "Animal" and substituting the following definition:
" 'animal' means abattoir animal within the meaning of the Meat
Inspection Act 1983".
Conditions applicable to meat sold
2. Regulation 3 of the Public Health (Meat) Regulations is amended—
| (a) | by omitting paragraphs (b) and (c) and substituting the following paragraphs: |
"(b) the meat is from an animal slaughtered at an abattoir; and
(c)
the meat is marked, or is from a carcase that is marked, in accordance with the Meat Inspection Act 1983"; and
| (b) | by adding at the end the following sub-regulation: |
"(2) Paragraph (1) (c) does not apply to any carcase, or meat
from a carcase, that is—
Authorised by the ACT Parliamentary Counsel—also accessible at (a)
marked in accordance with the law of a State or a Territory to which the Meat Inspection Act 1983 does not extend; and
(b) imported into the Territory in accordance with that Act.".
