Public Health Amendment (Scheduled

Medical Conditions) Order 2020

under the

Public Health Act 2010

I, the Minister for Health and Medical Research, in pursuance of section 51(2) of the Public

Health Act 2010, make the following Order.

Explanatory note

The object of this Order is to amend the Public Health Act 2010 to—

(a)

add Silicosis to the list of medical conditions in Schedule 1 to that Act that must be notified by medical practitioners to the Secretary of the Ministry of Health, and

(b)

add Candida auris infection and colonisation to the list of medical conditions in Schedule 1 to that Act that must be notified by pathology laboratories to the Secretary of the Ministry of Health.

This Order is made under section 51(2) of the Public Health Act 2010.

This Order commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

(1) Schedule 1 Scheduled medical conditions

Insert “Silicosis” in alphabetical order in Category 2.

(2) Schedule 1, Category 3
Insert “Candida auris infection and colonisation” in alphabetical order.
