I, the Minister for Health, in pursuance of section 51 (2) of the Public Health Act 2010, make the following Order.

Explanatory note

The object of this Order is to add carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales infection and colonisation to the list of Category 3 medical conditions under the Public Health Act 2010, which will require pathology laboratories to notify the Secretary of the Ministry of Health of any positive test results for that condition.

This Order is made under section 51 (2) of the Public Health Act 2010.

Insert “Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales infection and colonisation” in alphabetical order in Category 3.
