I, the Minister for Health and Medical Research, in pursuance of sections 51(2) and 81 of the

Public Health Act 2010, make the following Order.

Explanatory note

The object of this Order is to update references in Schedules 1, 1A and 2 to the Public Health Act 2010 to the medical condition “Novel Coronavirus 2019” with the now commonly accepted name for that medical condition “COVID-19”.

This Order is made under sections 51(2) and 81 of the Public Health Act 2010.

1      Name of Order

This Order is the Public Health Amendment (Scheduled Medical Conditions and

Notifiable Diseases) Order (No 2) 2020.

2      Commencement

This Order commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Public Health Act 2010 No 127

(1) Schedule 1 Scheduled medical conditions

Insert in alphabetical order “COVID-19 (also known as Novel Coronavirus 2019)” in Categories 2, 3 and 4.

(2) Schedule 1, Categories 2, 3 and 4
Omit “Novel Coronavirus 2019” wherever occurring.
(3) Schedule 1A Contact order conditions
Insert in appropriate order in the table to the Schedule—
COVID-19 (also known as Novel Coronavirus 2019) 14 days
(4) Schedule 1A
Omit the matter relating to Novel Coronavirus 2019.
(5) Schedule 2 Notifiable diseases
Insert “COVID-19 (also known as Novel Coronavirus 2019)” in alphabetical order.
(6) Schedule 2
Omit “Novel Coronavirus 2019”.
