Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Public Health Act 1991.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Public Health Act 1991 to ensure that blood lead levels of or above 10µg/dL (rather than the current blood lead level of 15µg/dL) will constitute the Category 3 medical condition of lead poisoning.
This Regulation is made under the Public Health Act 1991, including sections 80 and 82 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Public Health Amendment (Notifiable Lead
Level) Regulation 2011.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.
3 Amendment of Public Health Act 1991 No 10
Schedule 1 Scheduled medical conditions
Omit “Lead poisoning (as defined by a blood lead level of or above
15µg/dL)” from Category 3.Insert instead “Lead poisoning (as defined by a blood lead level of or above 10µg/dL)”.
