Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to allow for the issue of penalty notices for an offence against section 10 of the Public Health Act 2010 involving a contravention of a condition applying to certain ACT residents transiting through New South Wales to the ACT in accordance with an exemption under the Public Health

(COVID-19 Border Control) Order 2020.

This Regulation is made under the Public Health Act 2010, including sections 118 and 134 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Public Health Amendment (COVID-19 Border Control

Transiting ACT Residents) Regulation 2020.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 13 August 2020 and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.

Schedule 4 Penalty notice offences

Insert before the matter relating to section 10, for another offence occurring between

26 March 2020 and 25 March 2021—
