I, the Minister for Health, in pursuance of section 51 (2) of the Public Health Act 2010, make the following Order.

Explanatory note
The object of this Order is to reduce the blood lead level for lead poisoning in the list of medical conditions
that must be notified by laboratories to the Secretary of the Ministry of Health.
This Order is made under section 51 (2) of the Public Health Act 2010.

1      Name of Order

This Order is the Public Health Amendment (Blood Lead Notification Level) Order
2016.

2      Commencement

This Order commences on 22 February 2016 and is required to be published on the

NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Public Health Act 2010 No 127
Schedule 1 Scheduled medical conditions

Omit “Lead poisoning (as defined by a blood lead level of or above 10g/dL)” from
Category 3.
Insert instead “Lead poisoning (as defined by a blood lead level of or above
5g/dL)”.
