An Act to amend the Public Health Act 1997

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1. Name of Act

   This Act is the Public Health Amendment Act 2020.

2. Commencement

   This Act is taken to have commenced on 16 March 2020.

3. Legislation amended

   This Act amends the Public Health Act 1997.

4. Compensation
   New section 122 (3) (c)

   insert

   (c)in relation to any loss or damage suffered as a result of anything done in the exercise of a function under this part in relation to a COVID-19 declaration while the declaration was in force, except anything done in relation to a direction given under section 120 (1) (f).

5. Section 122 (4), new definition of COVID-19 declaration

   insert

   COVID-19 declaration—see section 119 (7).
