PUBLIC HEALTH (AMENDMENT)

ACT.

Act No. 1, 1939.

An Act to amend the Public Health (Amend­

ment) Act, 1937, in certain respects; and

for purposes connected therewith. [Assented

to, 29th March, 1939.]

T )E it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty,

1 ) by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­

lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South ILales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1. This Act may be cited as the “ Public Health siion title.

(Amendment) Act, 1939.”

2 . The Public Health (Amendment) Act, 1937, is

amended by inserting next after section eleven the follow- :,ewh. i2.

ing new section:—

12. Any proclamation made under this Act shall—■

(a)

take effect from the date of publication in prociama- the Gazette or from a later date to bo ‘‘O"- specified in the proclamation; and

(b)

be laid before both Houses of Parliament within fourteen sitting days after publica-

tion if Parliament is in session, and, if not, then Avithin fourteen sitting days after the commencement of the next session.

If either House of Parliament passes a resolution of Avhich notice has been given within fifteen sitting days after any pro­ clamation has been laid before such House disallowing such proclamation or any part thereof such proclamation or part shall thereupon cease to have effect.
